Guides / Gaggia and E61 58mm
58.5mm
Gaggia, E61 machines and Rancilio Silvia.
Gaggia Classic and Classic Pro, E61 machines from Rocket, Profitec, ECM and Lelit, and Rancilio Silvia take 58mm baskets. Your tools are sized 58.5mm.
Why 58.5mm
58.5mm tampers are the common choice for 58mm baskets. They reach closer to the basket wall, which leaves less of a loose ring at the edge for water to run down.
What goes in your kit
- Rotary WDT tool, 58mm
- Impact tamper, 58.5mm
- Puck screens, 58.5mm
- Magnetic dosing funnel, 58mm
Bottomless portafilter
Gaggia and E61 machines share the 58mm E61 pattern. Ours is in verification and not yet for sale. Rancilio Silvia owners: check the ear style on your portafilter before adding one.
Breville Dual Boiler and Oracle
The kit fits: these take 58mm baskets. A bottomless portafilter has to be Breville pattern, because E61 portafilters will not lock in. We do not have a verified one yet.
